The Hospice Regulatory Workgroup has been charged with the responsibility to review and evaluate the statutory and regulatory framework of hospice services in Maryland. The goals of the review process are to:
Enhance patient safety;
Improve patient care;
Streamline the recording, collection and reporting of data;
Encourage patient directed care by facilitating patient goals;
Ensure that regulations are congruent with national standards;
Foster education and re-education of patients, families, providers, and the community, and;
Strengthen disclosure requirements so that patients understand all of the care options available.
