Medical Care Assistance

The following Ryan White Care Act funds are administered through the AIDS Administration and used for access to care and support services. Refer to the income eligibility chart above and additional requirements below to determine your eligibility.

Ryan White Title II: Funds are provided statewide for medical care assistance. Each local county health department within Maryland and many locations in Baltimore City can provide assistance to people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWH/A).

Eligibility:

a. HIV/AIDS positive
b. Reside in Maryland
c. Uninsured/Underinsured

Ryan White Title IV (Adolescents): The Maryland Ryan White Title IV Youth Initiative is designed to identify HIV infected youth, enroll HIV infected youth in care, and assist them in maintaining care.

Eligibility:

a. 12-24 years old
b. HIV/AIDS positive
c. Reside in Maryland
d. Uninsured/Underinsured

Ryan White Title IV (Women): The Title IV Network offers HIV medical care and support services to HIV infected women and children and their affected families with a special focus on reducing perinatal transmission.

Eligibility:

a. Women and their families
b. HIV/AIDS positive
c. Reside in Maryland
d. Uninsured/Underinsured

Housing Assistance

HOPWA: The Housing Opportunity for Persons With HIV/AIDS (HOPWA) program addresses the housing needs of persons living with HIV/AIDS and their families by providing grants to local communities and nonprofit organizations.

Eligibility:

a. HIV/AIDS positive (includes the family of person with HIV/AIDS)
b. Income at or below 80% of mean income in residential area
c. Reside within the geographic area covered by HOPWA

Medication Assistance

Maryland has two programs that provide assistance with HIV/AIDS medication. Refer to the income eligibility chart above for income guidelines and the HIV Medication Assistance page for additional requirements to determine eligibility.

Insurance Assistance

Maryland has two programs that provide assistance with the cost of health insurance premiums. Refer to the income eligibility chart above for income guidelines and the Health Insurance Payment Assistance page for additional requirements to determine eligibility.
